Why choose a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist?

Unbelievably, “Psychologist” on its own, isn’t a protected title. It is not illegal to call yourself a psychologist or a consultant psychologist, even if you have no or little training in the area.

In order to protect the public, the Health Care Professions Council regulate practitioner psychologists. There are a number of protected psychologist titles, of which Clinical Psychologist is one. Clinical Psychologists will have completed post-graduate training, as well as an undergraduate degree in Psychology.

HCPC registration is assurance that your psychologist does not have fitness to practice issues, a criminal record, is properly indemnified and undertakes regular continuing professional development and supervision.
