Helen is able to offer cognitive assessments for people concerned about their memory. Helen has experience of working with people with dementia, including younger people with dementia. Cognitive assessments range from quick screening tests to more in-depth assessments of memory, attention, language, problem solving and mood.
Helen is able to adapt psychological therapies for people with cognitive impairments and also work alongside family members to assist their understanding of their relative’s condition. Psychological approaches can help relatives to understand and cope with some of the behavioural symptoms of dementia and may also be helpful for improving mood. For people with mild memory problems advice on coping strategies can be helpful in maintaining independence.
